About

Experienced. Direct. Institutionally trained.

Northcliffe Advisory partners with leaders who want depth without distance, and conviction without conflict.

Our philosophy

The thinking behind Northcliffe.

The decisions that shape a business - how to price, when to raise, whether to hedge, where to deploy, how to read the cycle - are increasingly made under conditions of macro uncertainty that most operating teams are not resourced to analyse. Large consulting firms provide the branding and the decks, but the thinking is rarely calibrated to the specific balance sheet, the specific market, or the specific moment.

Northcliffe Advisory was founded to close that gap: to bring the analytical discipline of an institutional markets desk into the room with business owners, boards, and industry professionals - directly, without the layers.

What we believe

That macro context is the most under-priced input into business decisions. That markets are a signal worth reading carefully. That most advice is too generic to be useful, and most analysis too abstract to be actionable. That the best advisory relationships are close, direct, and built on trust.

The founder

David Ioannidis.

David is the founder and Managing Director of Northcliffe Advisory.

Alongside Northcliffe, David is the Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Rolling Capital Management where he trades fixed income markets, manages a portfolio of early-stage unlisted companies, and oversees allocations across mainstream asset classes. Through RCM he also works closely with founders of early-stage ventures across a range of sectors, providing hands-on guidance on capital, growth, and scaling.

David's career spans more than three decades in financial markets. He began in investment banking, trading fixed income at Citigroup before joining JP Morgan, where he spent over a decade in senior roles - including leading the Fixed Income Trading division in Australia and serving on both the Global Rates Management Committee and the Local Management Committee.

Beyond his in-house roles, David has contributed to the broader financial services industry as a member of the Australian Financial Markets Association Governance Committee, and as a Director - and later Chairman - of Yieldbroker (now Tradeweb Australia), where he helped shape the firm's strategic direction.

He combines deep markets experience with a direct, practical approach to advising the people whose decisions drive business outcomes.

Rigour you can act on. Judgment you can trust.
